Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has led this year’s Eid-el-Kabir prayer at the Al-Ahfaad Mosque located in Nassarawo area of Gombe State.
Professor Pantami, who holds the traditional title of Majidadin Daular Usmaniyya, led hundreds of Muslim faithful during the prayer held at the Eid ground in the state capital.
After the prayer, he delivered a touching sermon on the importance of peace and unity in society.
In his sermon, Pantami used verses from the Holy Qur’an and Hadith to encourage Muslims to embrace peaceful coexistence and avoid anything that could cause conflict or threaten peace in the community.
He stressed that Islam promotes peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding among people.
After the sermon, the cleric also led the funeral prayer of a respected elder in the community, Malam Dahiru Mai Gana, who passed away on Tuesday evening after a brief illness.
Special prayers were offered for the deceased, asking Allah to forgive him and grant him eternal rest.
Professor Pantami later performed the slaughtering of his sacrificial ram and continued to receive goodwill messages and Eid greetings from hundreds of worshippers, including men and women who attended the prayer.
The event ended with prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity for Gombe State and Nigeria.
