Sporting Lagos moved within touching distance of the Nigeria National League Super 4 title after a dominant 4-0 victory over Doma United in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The Lagos side controlled the match on Wednesday night and delivered a ruthless second-half performance at the Remo Stars Stadium.

Doma United threatened early when Mathew Ogenyi broke down the left flank inside five minutes, but Sporting Lagos quickly settled into the contest.

Seun Akanji opened the scoring in the 28th minute after Sporting piled pressure on the Savannah Tigers. The forward finished from close range to hand his side a deserved lead before half-time.

Sporting Lagos returned from the break with greater intensity and doubled their advantage three minutes into the second half through Shola Oladunjoye.

Doma struggled to respond as Sporting dominated possession and dictated play across midfield.

Captain Solomon Uloko sealed the victory with two late goals. He struck in the 81st minute before adding another superb finish seven minutes later to complete his brace.

The win followed Sporting Lagos’ opening-day victory over Ranchers Bees and pushed the club to the top of the Super 4 standings with maximum points from two matches.

Inter Lagos also boosted their campaign with a 2-0 win over Ranchers Bees, while Doma United dropped to third place.

Sporting Lagos now need only a point against Inter Lagos in their final match to secure the Super 4 title.
