Arsenal have reached the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in 20 years after beating Atlético Madrid 2-1 on aggregate.

Arsenal’s Striker, Bukayo Saka scored the only goal in the second leg as Arsenal won 1-0 in London. The first leg in Madrid ended 1-1.

Arsenal’s Saka struck just before half-time. He finished from close range after Jan Oblak failed to hold a shot from Leandro Trossard.

Atlético pushed hard in the second half. Antoine Griezmann appealed for a penalty, but the referee waved play on. Viktor Gyökeres missed a clear chance to double Arsenal’s lead.

Mikel Arteta set his Arsenal up to attack early and defend well late on. Arsenal stayed compact and protected their lead. Diego Simeone urged his side forward, but they could not break through.

Arsenal will face either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain in the final on May 30 in Budapest.

It will be Arsenal’s second Champions League final. Their last appearance came in 2006.
