The Labour Party has elected Nenadi Usman as its new National Chairman. The election took place at the party’s national convention in Umuahia, Abia State.
Party spokesman Ken Asogwa confirmed the development, as delegates also elected other members of the National Working Committee.
Iheanacho Obioma emerged as National Secretary, Nike Oriola became Deputy National Chairman, Oluchi Oparah was named National Organising Secretary, Anslem Eragbe took the role of National Financial Secretary, while Hilda Dokubo became National Women Leader.
The new leadership team has been sworn in and has resumed duties, Usman previously led the party’s caretaker committee.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had recognised her leadership earlier this year, as Court backed her position.
In her speech, Usman thanked party members for their support. She promised to unite the party and strengthen its structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
She also praised Alex Otti for his leadership. Otti urged the new executives to provide strong direction and grow the party nationwide.
