President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the deployment of 5,000 CCTV cameras across Jos following the recent killings in the area.
The directive was issued during his visit to Plateau State, where he assured residents of the Federal Government’s commitment to ending the cycle of violence.
Tinubu said the surveillance system will strengthen intelligence gathering and enable security agencies to track and apprehend criminal elements more effectively.
He also directed security agencies to intensify operations and ensure that those responsible for the attacks are arrested and prosecuted.
The President expressed sympathy with victims and their families, stressing that his administration will take concrete steps to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
He further reaffirmed his commitment to restoring lasting peace and security in Plateau State.
