NCAA, Reps Strengthen Collaboration on Aviation Safety

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority and a House of Representatives committee have agreed to deepen collaboration.

The partnership focuses on improving safety compliance across Nigeria’s aviation sector.

The commitment was made during an oversight visit to NCAA headquarters in Abuja.

The visit was conducted by the House Committee on Safety Standards and Regulations.

Director-General of Civil Aviation Chris Najomo reaffirmed the agency’s safety commitment.

He said ongoing initiatives are addressing operational gaps and improving efficiency.

Committee Chairman David Idris Zacharias said the visit was not a fault-finding mission.

He explained that the exercise aims to support institutions in strengthening safety culture.

Zacharias commended NCAA’s efforts in areas such as staff training and emergency preparedness.

The visit also reviewed compliance with national occupational safety and health regulations.

Officials said the assessment aligns with global best practices in aviation safety.

They added that the engagement will help identify areas for improvement in infrastructure and safety awareness.

Both parties expressed commitment to continuous improvement in aviation safety standards.
