FG Reassures Nigerians on Security Efforts

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday joined thousands of Muslim faithful for the Eid-el-Fitr prayers at the expansive Ramat Square in Maiduguri.

The prayer ground was filled with worshippers marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, as Islamic clerics delivered sermons emphasizing peace, unity, and compassion among citizens.

Speaking after the prayers, the Vice President reassured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity, particularly in the North-East region.

He noted that efforts are ongoing to restore lasting peace and stability, adding that the administration remains resolute in addressing the nation’s security challenges.

Shettima also called on citizens to continue praying for the country and to support security agencies in safeguarding lives and property.

The Eid gathering in Maiduguri reflects a renewed sense of hope among residents, many of whom expressed optimism about improved security and a return to normalcy in the region.
