The new Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka Anite, has assumed office in Abuja.
Uzoka Anite was received by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on her first day.
During the meeting, both officials discussed strategies to support Nigeria’s long-term economic growth and development planning.
Uzoka Anite said the ministry remains committed to achieving a one trillion dollar economy by 2030.

She explained that the government’s economic strategy under the Renewed Hope Agenda prioritises private sector participation.
According to her, the government will focus on providing policy stability and strategic frameworks for economic development.
She noted that private sector investors, entrepreneurs and industry leaders will play major roles in driving national economic expansion.
The minister also highlighted the importance of national budgeting and development planning in attracting investments.
She said the 2026 to 2030 National Development Plan would support growth in infrastructure, security and other key sectors.
Uzoka Anite thanked Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve in the new role.
She reaffirmed her commitment to working with stakeholders to strengthen economic planning and national development.
