Ahmad Gumi has claimed that the Nigerian government knows the identities and locations of terrorists operating in the country. Speaking on insecurity and negotiations with armed groups, Gumi said he does not meet bandits or terrorists on his own.
He explained that he communicates with them only when security agencies are aware of the engagement, and that he often interacts with the groups in the presence of the police, the military, and other authorities.
“The government knows every one of them by name and even where they are located,” he said.
Gumi added that his discussions aim to promote peace and encourage dialogue.
His remarks come as attacks by bandits and terrorists continue in several parts of Nigeria, especially in the northern region.
The comments have sparked debate among Nigerians about how the government manages intelligence and security operations in the fight against terrorism.
