An Islamic scholar, Dr Jabir Sani Maihula, has stated that absolute sovereignty and authority belong to Allah Almighty alone, not to any human being or creation.
Dr Jabir made this known while delivering a sermon, where he explained that it is important for people to understand that any position, leadership, or status a person holds is given by Allah and can be taken away at any time.
He added that this teaching is clearly stated in the Al-Qur’an, which explains that Allah grants authority to whom He wills and removes it from whom He wills.
The scholar called on believers to increase their acts of worship, prayers, and reliance on Allah, especially during this period of various challenges.
Dr Jabir also reminded leaders to fear Allah in the discharge of their responsibilities, noting that everyone will ultimately return to Allah for accountability.
