The Nigeria Police Force in Ogun State has confirmed the arrest of popular TikToker Mirabel over an alleged false rape report.

The state police spokesperson said Mirabel is currently in custody while investigations continue.

He explained that the case is still being carefully examined and that the final decision will depend on the outcome of the investigation.

The arrest has added a new turn to a case that earlier sparked serious outrage across the country.

The controversy began after Mirabel shared emotional videos on TikTok, claiming she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man.

Her story quickly went viral, drawing strong public reactions and calls for justice.

Police authorities initially treated her as a complainant and followed standard procedures. She was asked to give statements, taken for medical checks and later referred to the police division covering the area where the incident was said to have happened.

Officers said she was also given medical care due to her emotional state.

However, as investigations progressed, questions reportedly arose around the claim. The police stressed that they remain neutral and are focused only on finding the truth.

The command clearly stated that while sexual offenders will always be arrested and prosecuted if found guilty, Nigerian law also strongly punishes anyone who deliberately gives false information to the police.

The case continues to attract public attention, with many Nigerians closely watching the outcome as police investigations move steadily forward.
