Ribadu Warns Against Violence, Vote Buying

Ahead of Feb 21 by elections, NSA Ribadu urges parties, candidates, and supporters to remain peaceful and fair. He warns that violence and vote buying will be stopped and punished.

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, spoke to political actors and warned them to stop violence and stop buying votes in upcoming elections.

the warning is about Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) By-elections in Rivers and Kano states All set for 21 February 2026.

Ribadu said People planning violence or buying votes will be found. Law enforcement agencies will stop and punish them before, during, and after voting.

He told Political parties ,Candidates and Supporters to act peacefully and fairly in the election process.

The police and other security teams will be at Polling stations High-risk areas to keep peace and order.

Ribadu also asked the media, Civil society, Community leaders and Citizens to help protect the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy.
