All seven serving members of the House of Representatives from Zamfara State have secured the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections. Consequently, they will fly the party’s flag in their respective constituencies.
The announcement followed the APC National Assembly primary elections held in the state on Tuesday.
The primaries took place in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital. The APC Primary Elections Committee for Zamfara State supervised the exercise.
According to committee chairperson Bello Maigari, the process followed party guidelines. In addition, he said the exercise complied with electoral regulations.
The election process ran without major incidents. Moreover, it attracted observers from several key institutions.
Officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, media representatives, party leaders, and stakeholders monitored the exercise. As a result, the process maintained credibility and order.
The committee declared winners across all federal constituencies in the state.
- Abdulmalik Zubairu (Bungudu/Maru) – 46,000 votes
- Isah Muhammad (Anka/Talata Mafara) – 35,139 votes
- Bello Hassan (Zurmi/Shinkafi) – 23,070 votes
- Kabiru Ahmadu (Gusau/Tsafe) – 85,723 votes
- Sulaiman Abubakar (Gummi/Bukkuyum) – 39,299 votes
- Aminu Jaji (Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji) – 37,064 votes
- Muhammad Ahmad-Sani (Bakura/Maradun) – 34,282 votes
Notably, all incumbents retained their tickets comfortably.
According to Bello Maigari, the primaries were conducted transparently. Furthermore, he said the process reflected adherence to APC rules and internal democracy.
In addition, the exercise enjoyed full participation from stakeholders, which helped strengthen its credibility.
With the primaries concluded, the APC now shifts focus to broader preparations for the 2027 general elections. Meanwhile, party officials believe the results reflect internal stability in Zamfara.
