Stefanos Tsitsipas has won his first ATP Tour title in 16 months after defeating Belgium’s Raphael Collignon in the Swiss Open final in Gstaad.
The Greek secured a 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3 victory to claim the 13th ATP singles title of his career, his first tournament win since lifting the Dubai Open trophy in March 2025.
The victory also sees Tsitsipas rise from world number 85 to number 55 in the latest ATP rankings.
“It’s been a long time, so it does mean a lot to me,” Tsitsipas said after the match.
Tsitsipas won the opening set before Collignon forced a decider by taking the second in a tiebreak but the Greek regained control in the third set to seal the title.
He finished with four aces, no double faults, won 21 of his 29 second-serve points, and saved two of four break points.
The Swiss Open is Tsitsipas’ sixth ATP title on clay, adding to his three Monte Carlo Masters crowns in 2021, 2022 and 2024.
Despite the defeat, 24-year-old Raphael Collignon, ranked 42nd in the world, reached the first ATP final of his career, marking a significant milestone for the Belgian.
