NEU Gombe Offers 50% Scholarship

North-Eastern University (NEU), Gombe has admitted a new batch of students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

About 450 students attended the matriculation ceremony, marking an important step for the growing institution. As a result, the university continues to expand its academic footprint in Nigeria.

At the event, Pro-Chancellor and Founder Sani Jauro explained the vision behind the university. He said NEU focuses on improving higher education through modern methods.

According to him, the institution uses digital tools and practical teaching to prepare students for real-world challenges. In addition, he confirmed that all submitted programmes received full accreditation approval. This achievement shows the university is ready to compete with leading institutions.

Meanwhile, the university introduced a 50 percent tuition scholarship for selected science courses. This move aims to attract more students into science-related fields.

The courses include Petroleum Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Industrial Chemistry, Environmental Management, Toxicology, and Urban and Regional Planning.

Jauro added that the scholarship will help students gain skills needed in key industries. As a result, graduates can better meet workforce demands.

Vice-Chancellor Yusuph Amuda Yahaya urged students to stay focused on their studies. He also warned them to avoid distractions that could affect their progress.

Furthermore, he stressed that discipline, hard work, and responsibility are essential for success. He added that the university promotes inclusiveness and allows students to take part in decision-making.

Registrar Hauwa Abubakar encouraged students to use available learning resources wisely. She also advised them to stay safe and support one another.

In the same vein, she urged students to remain committed to their academic goals.

NEU plans to graduate its first set of students by June 2026. This milestone will mark a major step in the university’s development.

Overall, with new admissions and scholarship support, the institution continues to position itself as a strong player in Nigeria’s education sector.
