Jürgen Klopp is back in football management after being officially appointed as the new head coach of the German national team.
The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed that Klopp has signed a contract that will keep him in charge of Die Mannschaft until the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager will guide Germany through the 2028 European Championship and the 2030 World Cup campaign.
Klopp takes over from Julian Nagelsmann, who left his role following Germany’s disappointing early exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The appointment marks the first time in Klopp’s coaching career that he will manage a national team.
The 59-year-old coach returns to the dugout after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season. During his time at Anfield, Klopp guided the club to major honours, including the UEFA Champions League and Premier League titles.
He also enjoyed a successful spell with Borussia Dortmund, winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles.
Klopp’s arrival has created excitement among German football fans, with hopes that his leadership, attacking style, and experience can help rebuild the national team and restore its position among the world’s top football nations.
The German coach now faces the challenge of preparing a new generation of players as Germany begins a fresh chapter under one of football’s most respected managers.
