The Kaduna State Government has pledged to provide a home, cover all medical expenses and ensure sustained psychosocial support for Malam Ahmed Abubakar Zakka, his wife, Nafisah, and their daughter, Fatima, following their release from captivity.

Governor Uba Sani disclosed this after visiting the family at a Kaduna State Government safe house, where they are receiving medical care following their discharge from hospital.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page, the governor said he was encouraged by the family’s recovery and expressed hope for their full rehabilitation.

He said the state government would continue to support the family beyond the immediate period, ensuring they receive the care needed to recover, rebuild their lives and regain a sense of security.

“The Kaduna State Government will provide them with a home, meet all medical expenses and ensure sustained psychosocial care to help them recover, rebuild their lives and regain a sense of security,” the governor stated.

Sani described the family’s ordeal as a painful reminder of the human cost of insecurity, stressing the government’s responsibility to protect lives and restore peace across communities.

He added that their freedom had strengthened his administration’s resolve to tackle banditry and other criminal activities through closer cooperation with security agencies, improved security coordination and stronger engagement with communities.

The governor also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his personal involvement and concern for the family’s safety.

He commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and security agencies for their contributions to securing the family’s safe return.

According to the governor, Ahmed Abubakar Zakka expressed gratitude to the Federal and Kaduna State Governments, as well as security agencies, for their efforts and support.

Sani said the family’s wellbeing and recovery would remain a priority for his administration in the coming months.

The governor did not disclose further details about the circumstances of the family’s release or the specific measures being taken to prevent similar incidents.
