The Gombe State Police Command has arrested seven suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate in Pindiga District, Akko Local Government Area. Officers also recovered weapons and ammunition during the operation.
According to police sources, operatives acted on credible intelligence on January 29. As a result, they arrested the suspects for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
Earlier investigations revealed that in December 2025, the principal suspect, Babangida Gamji, alongside three unidentified accomplices, allegedly attacked a victim. The suspects reportedly used a rifle and a cutlass while attempting to steal the victim’s motorcycle. However, the victim managed to escape.
Despite the escape, the suspects later contacted the victim by phone. They allegedly issued threats and demanded ₦650,000. Fearing for his safety, the victim paid the amount.
Following the complaint, detectives immediately launched a coordinated investigation. Consequently, officers arrested the main suspect. Further intelligence-led operations then led to the arrest of five additional accomplices.
