The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Arewa Think Tank and former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, alongside former Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Army Staff, General Martin Luther Agwai (Rtd), and the Convener of the group, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu.

According to the Governor, the delegation commended his administration for creating an open civic environment that allows non-governmental organisations to operate freely and contribute to policy debates and development initiatives across Kaduna State.

He stated that Kaduna has increasingly become a hub for intellectual engagement, policy discourse and national dialogue, attributing the development to deliberate efforts to promote peace, transparency and inclusive leadership.

The Governor also disclosed that he was briefed on the Think Tank’s programme of activities for 2026, including plans to commemorate three years of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Governor Sani confirmed his acceptance of an invitation to serve as Guest Speaker at the planned event, describing President Tinubu as a key figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

He said the President’s long-standing sacrifices and commitment to democratic governance remain instrumental to the country’s political development.

The Governor welcomed the Arewa Think Tank’s willingness to partner with the Kaduna State Government on policy formulation and implementation, while urging the group to continue promoting peace, unity and patriotism beyond political, ethnic and religious divisions.
