The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sealed an illegal mineral processing facility in Rivers State as part of intensified enforcement against unlawful mining activities across the South-South region.
The facility, operated by Twing Supply Chain Nig. Ltd. and located along the Onne–Akwa Ibom Road in Port Harcourt, was shut down by the South-South Mining Marshal of the Corps, led by Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC) Emmanuel Abiahu, over alleged violations of the Nigerian Mining Act.
According to the NSCDC, preliminary intelligence and investigations revealed that the company was engaged in the purchase, processing, and dealing in minerals without complete statutory licences and permits. Additional regulatory breaches were also identified during the operation.

The Corps said the facility has been temporarily sealed to allow for comprehensive investigations, after which appropriate legal action will be taken in line with due process to serve as a deterrent to other violators.
NSCDC advised individuals and corporate entities involved in mineral-related activities to ensure full compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements before commencing operations.
The Corps reaffirmed its commitment, under the leadership of Commandant General Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, to safeguarding national economic interests, enforcing mining regulations, and supporting the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda through sustained vigilance and inter-agency collaboration.
