The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP Dahiru Muhammad, has received the newly posted State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), CN Hassan Kabaju Katangana, pledging sustained collaboration in the fight against drug abuse and related crimes.
The courtesy visit, which took place on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Police Command Headquarters in Dutse, was aimed at strengthening the existing working relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the NDLEA in Jigawa State.
Speaking during the visit, NDLEA Commander Katangana said the engagement followed the agency’s tradition of paying courtesy calls to the Police as the lead internal security agency.

He noted that he had been briefed on the cordial relationship among security agencies in the state and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation, particularly with the Police, to enhance security and public safety.
In his response, CP Dahiru Muhammad welcomed the NDLEA Commander and assured him of the Command’s full support. He described drug abuse as a major threat to social order and crime control, stressing that effective policing cannot be achieved without addressing drug-related challenges.
The Police Commissioner also urged the NDLEA to maintain close communication with the Police, especially ahead of operations in sensitive areas, to ensure effective coordination and avoid operational conflicts.
Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to sustained inter-agency cooperation to combat drug abuse and criminality across Jigawa State.
