Davido has been appointed as Chairman of the newly established Osun State Sports Trust Fund by the Osun State Government.
The announcement was made by Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports Kola Adewusi during a meeting with the state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

According to the government, the Trust Fund’s primary aim is to attract private-sector investment, philanthropic contributions and sustainable financing for the state’s sports sector, moving away from ad-hoc funding to a structured model.
A key component of the plan is the ongoing renovation and rehabilitation of the Osogbo Township Stadium, which the government says will be upgraded to Olympic standards to host national and international events.

Davido’s appointment, which he reportedly accepted without hesitation, is expected to bring his global profile and network into play in securing funding and raising the sports profile of Osun State.

Additionally, the state is in the advanced stages of setting up the Osun State Sports Commission, a body intended to coordinate sports administration, policy implementation, athlete development and facility management.

In summary, the Osun State Government, under Ademola Adeleke’s leadership, is leveraging the Trust Fund, now chaired by Davido  as part of a broad strategy to revitalise the state’s sports ecosystem, empower youth, attract investments, and build world-class sporting infrastructure.
