President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on his 65th birthday, describing him as a pragmatic progressive and committed partner in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a congratulatory message marking the governor’s birthday on Friday, October 9, 2026, Tinubu joined his family, friends and political associates in celebrating the milestone.
The President commended Inuwa Yahaya for his leadership, vision and commitment to the development of Gombe State since assuming office in 2019.
He highlighted the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, noting that his administration had constructed more than 900 kilometres of roads across the state’s local government areas.
Tinubu also acknowledged the administration’s interventions in education, including the construction and renovation of hundreds of classrooms and the upgrading of established secondary schools.
In the health sector, the President commended the provision of functional primary healthcare centres across all 114 wards of Gombe State, as well as the Go-Health initiative, which provides healthcare support to vulnerable populations.
He further highlighted the governor’s efforts to promote industrialisation, agriculture and an improved business environment through projects such as the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park and the Agro-Livestock Development Zone.
Tinubu Praises Inuwa Yahaya’s Leadership in Northern Nigeria
The President also praised Inuwa Yahaya’s role as Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, particularly his efforts to promote unity, consensus-building and regional cooperation.
According to Tinubu, the governor has contributed to collective efforts to address challenges relating to security, education and economic development across Northern Nigeria.
He described Inuwa Yahaya as a pragmatic progressive whose governance approach places the welfare of the people at the centre of development.
Tinubu also acknowledged the governor’s support for the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing confidence in their continued partnership towards national development.
The President prayed that Almighty Allah would grant Inuwa Yahaya good health, wisdom and strength, as well as many more years of service to Gombe State and Nigeria.
The congratulatory message comes as the governor marks 65 years of age, having continued to lead Gombe State since his inauguration in May 2019.
