Barcelona winger Raphinha has taken over Brazil’s famous No. 10 shirt following Neymar Jr.’s retirement from international football.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed the change on Thursday. Raphinha will wear the number as Brazil starts a new chapter after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 29-year-old will wear the No. 10 shirt when Brazil face Australia in Townsville on Friday. The Seleção will then face India in another international friendly.
The CBF also announced the squad numbers for the two games. Endrick will wear the No. 9 shirt, which Matheus Cunha previously wore. Youngster Estêvão will take No. 11.
Vinícius Júnior will keep the No. 7 shirt, while goalkeeper Hugo Souza will wear No. 1.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news on X. He wrote that Raphinha is Brazil’s new No. 10 after Neymar’s international retirement.
Neymar leaves a major legacy with the national team. He scored 80 goals in 130 appearances for Brazil. That record makes him the country’s all-time leading scorer.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star also wore the No. 10 shirt at four World Cups. He announced his international retirement after Brazil’s Round-of-16 exit from the 2026 World Cup.
Brazil will now look to a new generation of players. Raphinha’s move to No. 10 marks one of the first major changes in the team after Neymar’s departure.
