The Borno State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for September will hold on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The announcement, issued by the Borno State Environmental Protection Agency, urged residents across the state to participate in the exercise and ensure their surroundings are clean and healthy.
According to the notice, movement will be restricted during the three-hour sanitation exercise as authorities carry out efforts to promote environmental cleanliness across the state.
Residents are therefore advised to remain in their homes and use the designated period to clean their surroundings and dispose of waste properly.
The exercise is part of the state’s monthly environmental sanitation programme aimed at improving public hygiene, reducing environmental hazards and promoting healthier communities.
The Borno State Environmental Protection Agency called on members of the public to support the exercise by taking responsibility for the cleanliness of their homes and immediate surroundings.
The agency encouraged residents to make environmental hygiene a regular practice beyond the monthly sanitation period.
The announcement was signed through the Directorate of Information, Ministry of Information and Internal Security, Borno State.
Residents are advised to comply with the movement restriction and cooperate with relevant authorities throughout the exercise.
