Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has described the ongoing local government election in the state as peaceful and credible after casting his vote. (Punch Newspapers)

The governor spoke on Saturday after voting at his polling unit at the Government Science Secondary School, Gombe, where he expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise and the turnout of voters. (Punch Newspapers)

Yahaya commended residents for participating in the democratic process and appreciated security agencies, electoral officials and other stakeholders for ensuring a smooth and orderly election. (Punch Newspapers)

The election, conducted by the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC), is for the election of local government chairmen and councillors across the state’s 11 local government areas and 13 development areas. (Punch Newspapers)
