Dr Aliyu Muhammed Sarkin Mota Kasra Hausa has identified networking, self-belief, and determination as some of the most important factors behind successful entrepreneurship.

Speaking as a guest on S24 Television’s Sportling programme, Dr Aliyu shared his personal business journey, explaining how he started from the foundation level and gradually built his career in the automobile industry.

According to him, the biggest capital anyone can have when starting a business is not only money but also the ability to build meaningful relationships and connect with people.

“The biggest capital is networking,” Dr Aliyu said, stressing that strong relationships and connections played a major role in shaping his journey as a car dealer.

He explained that when he started his business, his first major profit was about ₦1 million. With determination and careful planning, he was able to grow gradually and later acquire some cars, which helped expand his automobile business.

Dr Aliyu revealed that his journey into car dealership began with selling vehicles and using social media platforms, particularly Twitter, to showcase his products and reach potential customers.

He described social media as an important tool that helped him market his business, connect with clients, and create opportunities beyond his immediate environment.

According to him, success did not come overnight. He started from the core, believing in his ability and continuously working towards improving himself and his business.

“I started from the beginning and believed in myself. Nobody will believe in you more than you believe in yourself,” he said.

Dr Aliyu also highlighted the importance of partnerships in business growth, noting that by 2024 he had entered into partnerships that helped strengthen his business opportunities and expand his network.

He encouraged young entrepreneurs to focus on developing themselves, building relationships, and remaining committed to their goals despite challenges.

According to him, many young people focus only on financial capital while ignoring the value of human connections, mentorship, and trust, which are essential elements for long-term success.

He advised aspiring business owners to take advantage of technology, especially social media platforms, to promote their businesses and create visibility.

Dr Aliyu’s story reflects the journey of many entrepreneurs who start with limited resources but grow through persistence, innovation, networking, and confidence.

He maintained that believing in oneself is the foundation of every successful journey, adding that opportunities often come through the relationships people build along the way.

“Believe in yourself, because nobody will believe in you better than you,” he concluded.
