The All Progressive Congress, APC released a list of 47 senatorial aspirants not cleared for its Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 polls.
Ben Murray-Bruce is among the high-profile figures affected by the screening outcome.
Serving lawmakers including Benson Agadaga, Garba Musa Mai Doki, and Banigo Ipalibo were also not cleared.
The ruling party said the screening followed internal guidelines but did not disclose why the aspirants were denied clearance.
The affected names cut across several states including Bayelsa, Rivers, Kebbi, Zamfara, Delta and others.
APC fixed May 18 for its Senate primary elections as preparations continue for the 2027 general election.
The exclusion of top aspirants may reshape APC’s internal contest as attention shifts to who emerges from the primaries.
