Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior criticised his players after a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.
Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood, and Danny Welbeck scored as Brighton controlled the game and outplayed Chelsea.
Rosenior called it the worst performance since he took charge. He said the display was unacceptable in every area. He pointed to poor attitude, low intensity, and too many lost duels.
The Chelsea boss said he can no longer defend the team. He added that only a few players showed the right spirit. He warned that the team must improve quickly.
Rosenior also criticised the goals Chelsea conceded. He blamed simple defensive errors and poor decisions on the ball. He said the team failed to show courage and kept giving possession away.
He admitted he saw some progress in earlier matches. However, he said this performance fell far below the club’s standards. He called it one of the toughest nights of his career and said he never wants to see it again.
