The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) has announced plans to host the second edition of the Nigeria Broadcasting Awards in Abuja next week.
The awards, scheduled for Wednesday, will recognise excellence in radio and television across Nigeria.
According to a statement signed by BON Executive Secretary Yemisi Bamgbose and Chairman of the TINA Committee Bayo Awosemo, the initiative was endorsed at the organisation’s 74th General Assembly in 2021.
The awards will feature 24 categories covering both public and private broadcast media.

They include recognitions such as:
- Radio and Television Station of the Year
- Best Reporter
- Best Newscaster
- Best Producer
BON said the primary objective is to promote quality and professionalism in the broadcast industry.
The organisers disclosed that the 2025 edition attracted 204 entries from works produced in 2024.
The Awards Selection Committee is chaired by former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Danladi Bako.
Other members include representatives from the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and veteran broadcasters.
Beyond competitive categories, BON will also honour individuals who have made significant contributions to Nigeria’s broadcasting industry.
The event is expected to bring together key stakeholders across the media sector.
