Easter Break: FG Declares April 3–6 Public Holidays

The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Easter celebration.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, confirmed the announcement in a statement. She said the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, approved the holidays on behalf of the government.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated Christians in Nigeria and the diaspora. He urged them to reflect on selflessness, forgiveness, love, and forbearance.

He also called on Nigerians to promote unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies that drive national rebirth, economic growth, and shared prosperity. He wished Christians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
