The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has summoned Air Peace to its headquarters for an urgent meeting over a series of operational disruptions and passenger complaints.

The meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja.

According to the regulator, the action followed complaints from passengers on a Heathrow–Abuja flight who were rerouted through Gatwick–Lagos–Abuja.

Passengers were reportedly left stranded in Lagos after the aircraft returned due to a cracked windshield.

The NCAA disclosed that the situation has triggered an investigation by its Consumer Protection Department.

The authority said the probe would also examine other issues reported by passengers, including delayed refunds, compensation, and the provision of basic care for affected travellers.

It noted that while the authority continues to support domestic carriers, it expects strict compliance with aviation regulations.

The NCAA said it would conduct a full investigation into the incident.

Any regulatory action, it added, will follow the provisions of Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023, which covers passenger rights and airline obligations.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of passengers and maintaining standards in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
