Three senators have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, further reshaping the political balance in the Nigerian Senate.

The defections were announced during plenary at the Nigerian Senate.

The lawmakers who switched parties are:

Ikra Aliyu Bilbis – Senator representing Zamfara Central

Aminu Iya Abbas – Senator representing Adamawa Central

Amos Yohanna – Senator representing Adamawa North
