BUK Probes Student’s Online Misconduct Allegation

Bayero University Kano (BUK) has started an investigation into allegations of online misconduct involving one of its students. The reports began circulating on social media, prompting the university management to respond.

In a press statement, the university said it takes the allegations seriously. It added that the school remains committed to discipline and its core values, and the management said relevant authorities have begun a preliminary review. They aim to confirm the claims and understand what happened.

BUK said it will follow due process during the investigation. The university also said it will take appropriate action if the allegations prove to be true.

The institution urged the public and members of the university community to avoid sharing unverified information while the investigation continues, and restated its commitment to responsible student behaviour on and off campus, including on digital platforms.
