The event was organised by Nigerian Television Authority, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, and Voice of Nigeria.

Idris cautioned that irresponsible use of digital platforms can fuel division and weaken national unity.

He said digital technology offers opportunities but also presents serious moral tests.

According to him, verification is now a civic and moral responsibility.

The Minister highlighted youth-focused programmes under Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He described Nigeria’s youth population as a major national asset.

However, he warned that the country’s future depends on how well young people are guided.

Idris urged youths to use digital tools for education, innovation, and national development.

He called on citizens to pause, interrogate sources, and promote unity online.

The Minister also praised UNESCO’s designation of Nigeria as host of Africa’s first Media Literacy Institute.

Parents, educators, religious leaders, and media practitioners must play active roles.

He concluded that faith, patriotism, and responsible digital citizenship must work together.
