Bola Tinubu has congratulated the winners of Saturday’s elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the states of Kano and Rivers.
The elections were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the six area councils of the FCT and in by-elections for constituencies in Kano and Rivers states.
President Tinubu urged the winners to govern with humility, patriotism, and dedication, describing their mandate as a sacred trust from the people.
He commended the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for what he described as notable achievements in the territory, which he said translated into political gains for the ruling party.
The President also congratulated the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano and Rivers on their victories.
He praised INEC, security agencies, and voters for ensuring a peaceful and successful election process.
President Tinubu further applauded the contestants for their discipline and commitment, noting that democracy is strengthened through participation and healthy competition.
He said the conduct of the elections has helped to deepen Nigeria’s democratic culture and called on INEC to continue improving future electoral processes.
