The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, in Osun State has firmly warned corps members to avoid service evasion and act responsibly throughout their service year.

The state coordinator, Ekeng Ita Kubiangha, gave the warning during a familiarisation visit and community development meeting held in Osogbo.

He reminded corps members that national growth depends greatly on how seriously individuals carry out their civic duties.

Speaking clearly and confidently, Kubiangha urged corps members to remain disciplined and committed, stressing that skipping duties or ignoring NYSC rules weakens the purpose of the scheme.

He advised them to willingly contribute to national development and respond positively wherever they are posted.

He also strongly emphasised professionalism, asking corps members to dress properly in approved uniforms and always respect constituted authority.

According to him, actions such as travelling without approval, lending uniforms to unauthorised persons and missing monthly clearance are taken seriously.

Kubiangha warned that such misconduct could easily lead to punishment, including an extension of the service year.

He encouraged corps members to work actively at their places of primary assignment and make meaningful impact in their host communities.

Also speaking at the event, the Osogbo Zonal Inspector, Dolapo Stephen, reminded corps members to strictly follow NYSC rules, noting that the scheme operates under clear legal guidelines.
