The Gombe State Police Command has announced the relaxation of motorcycle movement restrictions from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM during the holy month of Ramadan and the period after it.

In a press release issued on February 19, 2026, the Command said the decision followed extensive security consultations and was aimed at supporting increased religious and social activities during Ramadan.

The Commissioner of Police, Umar Ahmed Chuso, reassured residents that the police remain fully committed to protecting lives and property across the state.

He explained that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure that the extended movement hours do not threaten public safety.

The Command also advised motorcyclists to obey traffic rules, avoid reckless riding, carry valid identification, and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

Police authorities appreciated the cooperation of religious leaders, community elders, and residents, adding that they remain dedicated to maintaining peace while respecting religious and cultural practices in Gombe State, Nigeria.
