Professor Muazu Shehu has been appointed as the new Head of Civil Service by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, marking a significant leadership transition in the state’s public administration.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement conveyed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, following the retirement of the outgoing Head of Civil Service, Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, who completed the mandatory 35 years in public service.
Professor Muazu Shehu, a seasoned administrator and respected academic, brings extensive experience and technical expertise to his new role. Prior to his elevation, he served as Permanent Secretary, General Duties, and also as Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, where he earned recognition for his professionalism, diligence, and strong policy coordination skills.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya charged the new Head of Civil Service to consolidate ongoing reforms, strengthen professionalism, and promote discipline and innovation across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
The Governor also praised the outgoing Head of Service for his dedication and impactful contributions, wishing him a peaceful and fulfilling retirement after decades of service to the state.
The appointment is seen as part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and reform the civil service in Gombe State.
