President Bola Tinubu has expressed sympathy with traders affected by the fire at Singer Market in Kano State.
The fire started on Saturday evening and continued into Sunday morning, destroying shops and food items in the market.
President Tinubu described the incident as tragic after receiving a situation report from Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
He noted that the latest fire occurred less than two weeks after a similar incident destroyed many shops in the same market.
The President directed relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the repeated fire outbreaks at Singer Market.
He said frequent market fires leave traders in distress and cause heavy losses to families and businesses.
