Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has visited Singer Market following a second fire outbreak in the Gidan Gilas area.

The governor arrived at the scene while the fire was still burning and destroying shops and valuable goods.

The visit was disclosed in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday.

Governor Yusuf called on the Federal Government to provide modern firefighting equipment to help contain market fires and similar emergencies.

He said such support should include air support and advanced tools to strengthen emergency response in large commercial centres.

He commended the Kano State Fire Service and other security agencies for their efforts in fighting the fire.

Governor Yusuf urged traders and residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency workers as operations continue.

He assured residents that the state government would take steps to prevent future fire outbreaks in major markets.
