The Jigawa State Government spent N8.1 billion on scholarships in 2025, supporting nearly 35,000 students locally and abroad, Governor Umar Namadi has said.
Namadi disclosed this at the launch of the Danmodi Students Care 2026 Mega Programme in Dutse.
He described the initiative as a landmark intervention promoting inclusive education and youth empowerment.
The scholarship package covered over 230 students studying medical and engineering courses in foreign universities.
Thousands of other beneficiaries are enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria under the scheme.
The governor said education investment remains central to his 12-Point Agenda for Greater Jigawa.
