The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a large consignment of Captagon pills during a patrol operation in Kwara State.
The seizure took place along the Bode Saadu axis, where operatives stopped a commercial vehicle and carried out a search.
NDLEA officers discovered 10,000 tablets of Captagon hidden among passengers’ belongings. They also recovered additional controlled substances during the operation.
The agency arrested a suspect linked to the consignment at the scene. Officials say the suspect was taken into custody for further investigation.
Captagon is a powerful and highly addictive stimulant. Security agencies describe it as a dangerous drug linked to violent behavior and criminal networks.
NDLEA officials say the bust is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking routes across Nigeria. They add that intelligence-led operations continue in different states.
The agency also warns traffickers that surveillance has increased nationwide. It says it will intensify checks on highways, vehicles, and border routes.
Authorities urge the public to report suspicious movements and support the fight against drug abuse.
The investigation into the Kwara seizure is still ongoing.
