Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has pledged to mobilise support across the state for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, reaffirming his commitment to securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor made the declaration on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Gombe State chapter of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, where 26 campaign vehicles donated by the organisation were unveiled to strengthen grassroots mobilisation.

Inuwa Yahaya attributed the state’s support for Tinubu to the Federal Government’s development interventions in agriculture, livestock development, infrastructure, healthcare and energy.

He specifically highlighted the Federal Government’s support for the Livestock and Agro-Development Zone in Gombe and the ongoing construction of the Gombe-Biu Super Highway, describing them as projects with significant economic potential.

The governor said the reported N120 billion approval for the livestock development project would help improve agricultural production, strengthen livestock value chains, create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in Gombe and the wider North-East region.

He pledged to work with APC leaders, stakeholders and grassroots structures to mobilise voters for Tinubu and other party candidates in the 2027 general elections.

Inuwa Yahaya also commended the founder and Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for donating the 26 vehicles.

According to the governor, the donation would strengthen the party’s mobilisation capacity and expand its engagement with communities across the state.

Earlier, Tompolo, represented by High Chief Kestin Pondi, said the vehicles were provided to improve the movement’s outreach and enable members to communicate Tinubu’s policies and vision to residents.

Pondi also praised the Inuwa Yahaya administration for its investments in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development.

He cited the governor’s road construction programme, claiming that at least 100 kilometres of roads had been constructed in each of Gombe State’s 11 local government areas, describing the projects as significant contributions to connectivity and grassroots development.

“This is development. This is connectivity. This is the dividend of democracy. If all governors had done what you have done, we would have less to worry about during campaigns, because performance would do the campaigning for us,” Pondi said.

Also speaking, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Mohammed Abubakar Luggerewo, commended the movement for supporting the APC’s mobilisation efforts.

He acknowledged the Federal Government’s interventions in Gombe and emphasised the importance of continued cooperation between the federal and state governments.

The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, urged residents to participate actively in the movement’s activities and mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In his remarks, the Gombe State Coordinator of the movement, Khalid Ahmed Kumo, thanked the governor for supporting the organisation since it began operations in the state.

He assured the governor of the movement’s continued collaboration with APC structures across Gombe State as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
