The Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, has received a donation of nursing and medical textbooks to support teaching, learning and research activities in the University.
The donation was presented on Wednesday, 24 December 2025, through the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta, Canada. It is aimed at strengthening academic resources for students and staff, particularly in nursing and other health-related disciplines.
This is the second time the University of Alberta has donated textbooks to Bayero University, Kano, facilitated by Mr. Abdurasheed Inusa Abdulmalik, a staff member of the Canadian university.
The books were formally presented to the Vice-Chancellor by the Chairman of the Bayero University Traders Association, Alhaji Muhammad Gali Yusuf Maitama, at the entrance of the Senate Building.

Receiving the donation, Professor Haruna Musa expressed deep appreciation on behalf of the University management, staff and students.
He commended the donors and the facilitator for their sustained goodwill and commitment to academic development, noting that the books would significantly enhance teaching quality, learning outcomes and research capacity in the health sciences.
The Vice-Chancellor received the books in the company of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Professor Aliyu Mua’zu, mni, and the University Librarian, Dr. Kabiru Dahiru Abbas.
Mr. Abdurasheed Inusa Abdulmalik maintains close ties with the University community, further reinforcing the collaborative relationship that made the donation possible.
