Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has made history once again, becoming the first Nigerian artist to receive five Grammy nominations in the album categories.

The self-acclaimed African Giant achieved this latest milestone with his new album, No Sign of Weakness, which earned a nomination for Best Global Music Album at the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards.

This recognition adds to his growing list of Grammy achievements, following previous nominations for African Giant (2019), Twice As Tall (2020), Love, Damini (2022), and I Told Them (2023). Twice As Tall went on to win the Grammy for Best Global Music Album, marking his first victory at the prestigious awards.

Burna Boy also secured another nomination this year for Best African Music Performance with his track “Love.” The nod reinforces his reputation as one of the most consistent and globally recognized African artists of his generation.

Other Nigerian acts, including Davido, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid, also earned nominations in various categories, further showcasing the global dominance of Afrobeats and Nigerian music.

The 2026 Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place on February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. Burna Boy’s latest achievement cements his legacy as one of Africa’s most influential musical exports and a pioneer who continues to elevate African sound on the world stage.
