Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North, has released detailed claims and video evidence in his ongoing feud with his wife, Regina Daniels, and her family.
In a lengthy post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Nwoko said the footage shows Regina’s brother, Samuel “Sammy West” Ojeogwu, repeatedly entering his compound without permission, harassing his children and domestic staff while he was away. He claimed that what is being portrayed as a family dispute is in fact a security concern.
Nwoko said he had financially supported Regina’s family for years, including sponsoring Sammy through his final years at university, providing him with musical instruments, renting and furnishing a flat for him in Abuja, and transferring ₦125 million to their mother, Rita Daniels, within two years. He alleges that instead of helping Regina recover from a substance-abuse battle, her siblings and friends actively undermined the process by bringing in illicit substances and disrupting therapy.
On the other side, Regina Daniels has accused Nwoko of using his political influence to intimidate her family. She claimed in a post that her elder brother and sister have been arrested, and that her younger sister may soon also be targeted, allegedly to force her into returning to rehab or her husband’s home. She wrote: “Leave me and my family alone, Ned!” and warned that she would expose more if the intimidation continues.
Her brother, Lawrence Daniels, also weighed in, stating that if anything happens to any of their siblings while in Nwoko’s custody or influence, the senator will be held responsible. He challenged Nwoko’s public claims, saying the senator had admitted to hitting Regina twice, something Nwoko denies.
Meanwhile, police confirmation has come through that Sammy West remains in custody. According to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, the arrest follows a petition filed on 28 October, alleging trespass, assault, intimidation, theft and cyber-bullying against Sammy and three others.
The public dispute expands beyond the two individuals signifying a major rupture between Regina’s family and her husband, one that involves serious allegations of substance abuse, domestic violence, intimidation, and the misuse of power.
