Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Monday reaffirmed the state’s unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that Borno remains a stronghold of the ruling party.
Governor Zulum made the remarks in Maiduguri during the flag-off of the APC Northeast e-registration workshop, an event attended by members of the national and state assemblies, party executives, and local government chairmen. The workshop is part of the APC’s digital reform process aimed at modernising its membership database across the country.
Addressing party stakeholders, Zulum said his administration would provide full support to ensure the success of the membership e-registration exercise in the North East region.

“I want to assure you that the Government of Borno State under my leadership will provide the desired support to ensure the success of the APC membership e-registration exercise in the North East,” Zulum stated. “Our party members in other states governed by other political parties will also be supported to get captured.”
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the APC, the governor declared, “Let there be no doubt in anyone’s mind, Borno State is 100% for the APC. Our loyalty to the party and its leadership is absolute.”
He recalled the transformation of the state under APC-led governments, noting that before the party came to power, Borno was battling insecurity, economic collapse, and widespread fear.
“Before the APC came to power, Borno State was on its knees. Our local governments were under siege, our economy was shattered, and our people were living in fear. But look at where we are today. The narrative is shifting due to the relentless efforts and massive support from the APC-led federal government,” he said.
Zulum praised the contributions of the former administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and highlighted ongoing federal support under President Tinubu.
“From the late President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, we received unprecedented support in our fight against terrorism through the establishment of the North East Development Commission (NEDC). Now, under President Tinubu, this support has been strengthened, with a deep commitment to restoring peace and rebuilding livelihoods in the region,” he added.
The governor further commended the APC-led Federal Government for collaborating with his administration to facilitate the resettlement of displaced persons and reconstruction of communities devastated by insurgency.
Zulum also called on residents of Borno State to begin mobilising support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I wish to reiterate my call to the good people of Borno State to join me in supporting the re-election of President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. Let us begin to build that momentum now,” he said. “Let us work together to ensure his visionary leadership continues to guide our nation forward.”
