The Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Aliyu, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to sustaining its partnership with British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN), commending the company for its compliance with trade regulations and contribution to Nigeria’s economy.
Comptroller Aliyu gave the commendation during a familiarisation visit to BATN’s facility in Ibadan on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, where he and his team were received by the company’s Director of Operations, Mr. Hasnain Ishtiaq.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs (ASC I) Abdulmalik Akintola, the CAC lauded BATN for its adherence to operational standards and its role in revenue generation, job creation, and industrial growth.
He emphasized that the company’s activities have continued to enhance economic development within Oyo State and across Nigeria, while calling for sustained cooperation between the Service and the company to advance mutual goals.
In his response, Mr. Ishtiaq expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the Customs Service for its efforts in facilitating legitimate trade and creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
He assured that BATN would continue to uphold regulatory compliance and strengthen its collaboration with the Service.
