President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, on the occasion of his 66th birthday.
In a message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President joined family, friends, and associates of the Governor in celebrating his legacy of leadership, service, and dedication to the public good.
President Tinubu commended Governor Otu for his People First agenda, which places citizens at the heart of governance through strategic investments in education, health, food security, and cultural empowerment.
He lauded the Governor’s achievements in education — notably the establishment of the University of Education and Entrepreneurship and the College of Agriculture — both designed to build a new generation of skilled professionals driving sustainable growth across the state.
The President also praised the Governor’s push for industrialisation, citing the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone in Adiabo, supported by the African Development Bank, as a key driver of value-chain expansion, export competitiveness, and youth employment.
Expressing confidence in Governor Otu’s leadership, President Tinubu highlighted several transformative infrastructure projects — including the proposed Bakassi Deep Seaport, the 700km Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the 450km Trans-Sahara Superhighway, the river port, and the free trade zone, all poised to position Cross River as a major hub for commerce, logistics, and tourism in West Africa.
President Tinubu wished the Governor continued good health, strength, and wisdom in the service of his people and the progress of Nigeria.
